Anton Du Beke has again thrown his support behind Giovanni Pernice when announcing their latest project.

After a months’ long investigation, the BBC recently released its findings of an investigation into Giovanni’s conduct on Strictly Come Dancing following allegations made against him by former dance partner Amanda Abbington.

The broadcaster issued an apology to Amanda, 50, and upheld some of her complaints against Giovanni, 33, but cleared him of the most serious ‘physical aggression’ allegations.

Soon after he shared a video on social media, saying how he was happy he could now ‘carry on to do what I was born to do, and I love to do which is entertain all of you’.

Now Giovanni and Strictly judge Anton will be hitting the road together for their 2025 dancing tour, Together Again.

Anton also shared the post, writing: ‘Exciting news my loves! I’m so happy to announce the double act is going back out on the road! @giovannipernice and I are going on tour again next summer.’

He also shared the link for tickets, which go on sale later this week.

Before the findings of the investigation were released by the BBC Anton, who has filmed travel shows with Giovanni and also toured with him outside of Strictly, said he would want to see the Italian star back on the dancefloor.

‘I’d like to see him back of course, but we’ll enjoy Aljaz (Škorjanec, who returned to the show this year), and his new efforts on the show this year, and we’ll move forward,’ he told The Sun.

Addressing the scandal further, Anton, who was a pro dancer until 2020, said: ‘It’s one of those situations where I sort of feel like I’m on the outside looking in because it’s about stuff that of which I’m not involved in, anymore.’

‘So I’m not part of the… but it’s, you know, you don’t. You never want any bad press, if you like, or anybody to say anything negative about the thing that you love,’ he continued.

‘So I feel sad but I’m sort of waiting it… I’ve been waiting for it to sort of get through this part and then get on with the new show.’

He added what unfolded had been ‘unfortunate’ and it was ‘disappointing’ if contestants didn’t have a positive experience on the show.

But he also hoped that ‘99% of people did have a great time’ and the ‘focus is on that’.

Aside from the upcoming dance tour across the United Kingdom and Ireland, Giovanni recently returned to screens after signing up to the Italian version of Strictly, Ballando con le Stelle.

Previously confirming his TV comeback, Giovanni said he was ‘delighted’, as he heads back to work in his native country.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.20pm on BBC One.
