Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has missions that you need to complete in order to get the Dragon Balls you need to summon the Eternal Dragons in the game.

We recently covered everything you need to know about Dragon Balls, and you may want to check that out so that you are completely in the know but here we will be focusing on the first real mission that may trip you up – the Arrival on Planet Namek.

This is the first mission in Goku’s story arc. As you play through the mission, which is heavily laced with tutorial sections and lore you will eventually come to the end.

Frieza, Emperor of the Universe (tough gig we are sure) will call down the Ginyu Force to fight you on Planet Namek. The Ginyu Force consists of elite-level fighters Burter and Jeice, complete with weird Cockney English accents.

Now you have to beat these two but depending on what you do will affect whether you get the main route or the alternate route. There is a great deal of confusion here and players think there must be a mistranslation in the English because the game tells you that you have to beat Jeice without deflecting his Crusher Ball move, but that is very, very wrong and you need to actually deflect it to get the other route.

Simply defeating Jeice without deflecting the crusher ball is considered the alternate route and, ironically it is the easiest of the two paths.

If you want the main canon route you have to fight Jeice and at some point select his Crusher Ball when he launches it at you, Make sure you have two full bars, you will need them,

If you successfully manage to deflect the ball, it will trigger Burter to join the fight. Indirectly the game is trying to teach you how to dodge and deflect here, it’s just that the wording is super confusing. So yes, despite what the game tells you you need to deflect the Crusher Ball!
