Welcome to Metro’s travel news blog, where we’re bringing you the latest on what’s affecting travel today, with disruption to both road and rail.

It’s bad news for rail travellers this afternoon as severe disruption is set to affect services running through Stevenage railway station until the end of the day.

There’s a fire next to the track which has blocked all lines.

The major disruption led Network Rail to issue a ‘do not travel’ warning until further notice as trains will be cancelled or delayed by up to 90 minutes.

It’s impacting Grand Central, Great Northern, Hull Trains, LNER, Lumo and Thameslink services in and out of London.
