A FEMALE police officer groped a woman in a bar and tried to kiss her after downing Prosecco on a night out, a court heard. PS Rachel Bright, 46, had complimented the alleged victim all night before grabbing her bottom, it is said. Kingston Crown Court heard she then told her: “Ha well that got your attention”. CCTV of the alleged attack on December 5, 2022, showed the woman shoving Bright’s hand away. She grew tearful as she told jurors how she kept trying to pull away from the Metropolitan Police officer during the night out. Recalling the alleged attack, the woman added: “I felt a body behind me, then I felt a hand go up and grope on my vagina and then a laugh and a ‘haha that’s one way to get your attention.’ “I froze, the room went black. “I just felt absolutely disgusting and gross and absolutely degraded. “I am ruined, you have not only ruined my life, you have ruined your own life, I am a wreck, I don’t know why you did it.” The court was told PS Bright, attached to the Southwest Command Unit, had been out to a number of bars with the woman. They then made their way to Be At One where the alleged assault took place. Prosecutor Paul Edwards said Bright had been complimenting the woman all night and took “every opportunity to be very touchy-feely”. The police sergeant also allegedly told her she “loved everything about her”. Bright claims the touching was accidental and not sexually motivated. She has denied one count of sexual assault and the trial continues. FacebookPS Bright allegedly put her hand up the woman’s ‘skort’[/caption] Central NewsShe has denied the charge[/caption]
