AC Milan striker Alvaro Morata has been left fuming with a town’s mayor after he revealed that the Spaniard had moved into the area.

The 31-year-old signed for the Italian giants over the summer, returning to Serie A from Atletico Madrid after two spells with Juventus in the past.

He has made a solid start on the pitch, with two goals in his first four league games, but he has had a strange spat off the field.

Marco Ballarini, the mayor of Corbetta, was clearly very excited that Morata chose to move into the area, posting a buoyant message on Instagram.

Ballarini wrote: ‘ALVARO MORATA E’ DI CORBETTA, HERE WE GO!

‘No it’s not an early April Fool’s Day. The champion Alvaro Morata is our new #Corbetta! resident.

‘The Spanish bomber, newly acquired #Milan, is finalizing practice for the official move to his new (wonderful) home in our city.

‘You know, I’m a huge Inter fan, but I’m pleased to welcome Alvaro #Morata to our big Corbetta family!

‘And as Fabrizio Romano would say… ALVARO MORATA MOVES TO CORBETTA, HERE WE GO!’

Morata was far from impressed and says that he will immediately move house as the mayor has ruined any hopes of privacy that he held.

‘Dear Mayor, thanks for violating my privacy,’ Morata posted on Instagram.

‘Luckily, I have no valuable objects; the only treasure I have is my sons’ safety, which is no longer guaranteed. I thought Corbetta would offer me privacy, but I am forced to change my home immediately due to your inability to use social media and protect your citizens.’

Morata came off the bench on Tuesday night as AC Milan were beaten 1-0 by Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

He replaced another former Blues striker Tammy Abraham, with the Chelsea connection strong in Paulo Fonseca’s side as Fikayo Tomori, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also started the game.
