While Ukraine claim a ballistic missile was used in the strike, Russian sources claim a 6,670mph hypersonic Iskander-M missile was used – hitting the port infrastructure of Odesa. As a result of the attack, a port employee was killed and eight other people were injured and hospitalised. Two civilian vessels flying the flags of Palau and Belize as well as warehouses, an administrative building and vehicles were damaged in the horror blitz. According to Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s offeice, a Palau-flagged cargo ship  “OPTIMA” and a Belizean-flagged civilian vessel “NS Moon” were damaged on the city’s port infrastructure. Reports claim “OPTIMA” had been damaged last year after another cruel Russian attack. The recent attacks on Odesa port facilities seem to be intended to disrupt the country’s exports of grains among other food staples. Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement agencies, are recording the consequences of Russia’s armed aggression. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the violation of the laws and customs of war. The investigation is ongoing and the final number of deaths and injuries, as well as the full extent of the destruction and damage, is being estimated. It comes just days after a massive 200ft inferno tore through a Russian oil depot after being blasted by Ukraine. Flames engulfed the Moscow-controlled terminal in Crimea for more than four days after Ukraine unleashed at least two missiles. The Marine Oil Terminal in Feodosia was originally targeted by Ukraine to coincide with Vladimir Putin’s 72nd birthday on Tuesday. It has been burning ever since but the explosions are getting worse, not better.  The new column of fire erupted as Russia’s FSB detained a man accused of providing details of military targets to the Ukrainian secret services in Feodosia. This included naval shipping.  While being questioned, the 30-year-old said he wanted to stop Russia firing Kalibr missiles at residential targets in Ukraine.  Russians believed they had contained the Feodosia inferno but it has ignites again amid fears it will be totally destroyed. Originally reported as a drone strike, it appears instead to have been hit by two ATACMS long-range missiles supplied to Ukraine by the US.
