A MAN in his 20s has died and two others are in hospital after a “large group fighting with knives” were heard “shouting” in the street. Cops arrived at the Clapham and Battersea border shortly after 4am this morning following reports of a horror triple stabbing. Police were allegedly “banning” residents from going out on their balconies. The local said: “I could hear three people having a fight. Our flat faces out on to where it happened, I could just hear shouting. “None of us are able to go out on the balcony as we’re being told to go back inside.” Another witness told MyLondon: “It’s a big city everywhere it is the same, London or other cities. “But this street is usually okay, people know each other – it’s not that kind of a massive place.” It comes as one victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene in Wandsworth Road. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4:07am today (Sunday, September 29) to reports of a stabbing incident in Wandsworth Road. “We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance. “Our crews treated three people at the scene. Sadly, despite the best effort of emergency services, one person died at the scene. One person was conveyed to a major trauma centre and another was conveyed to hospital.” The Met Police said: “Police were called at about 04:05hrs on Sunday, 29 September to reports of a large group fighting with knives in Wandsworth Road, SW8.“Officers, London Ambulance Service and the London’s Air Ambulance attended. Three people were found at the scene suffering with stab wound injuries.“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a man in his 20s [Victim 1], was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
