Girls Aloud took the UK by storm earlier this year with a huge sell-out arena tour, and there’s more good news for fans.

The Jump hitmakers, made up of Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts, played to over 300,000 people across the UK and Ireland in May and June, and soon everyone will be able to join in the fun.

The band has announced The Girls Aloud Show: Live at the O2, which was filmed on one of the nights during their five-gig run at the London venue.

As well as highlights from the memorable gig, the one hour ITV special will including some sneak peeks behind the scenes, while the full show will be available to stream on ITVX.

‘It was pure joy and nostalgia at every show. It was amazing to look out at the crowd every night, especially in the moments when we all remembered Sarah together,’ said Cheryl, paying tribute to their late bandmate Sarah Harding.

Harding died aged 39 in 2021, and Nicola was glad to ‘remind people’ of their friend through the show.

She added: ‘This show is a massive celebration of our journey over the last 22 years. It was a great chance for us to showcase our catalogue of music that we’re so proud of, and to celebrate and remind people of our incredible Sarah.’

Nadine is still in awe of how ‘creative’ their fans got with costumes for the gigs, which everyone will get a chance to experience later this year.

‘They came as different eras of Girls Aloud,’ she said. ‘The Girls Aloud Show is a unique experience because there’s so much excitement and camaraderie in the room.’

And the band are glad anyone who missed out on the sellout tour will be able to share in the fun with the upcoming special.

Kimberley enthused: ‘It’s exciting to think that anyone who didn’t manage to see The Girls Aloud Show when we toured the UK is going to have this chance to share it with us now.’

ITV’s head of entertainment and daytime commissioning, Katie Rawcliffe, has been full of praise for the show, and she said it’s been ‘a boy’ collaborating on the programme.

She commented: ‘Working with the band on bringing something extra for the fans has been a joy and we look forward to both the highlights and the full tour coming to ITV1 and ITVX very soon.’

The Girls Aloud Show: Live at the O2 is coming to ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
