A children’s TV star now lives a very different life away from the cameras, more than a decade since his biggest role, but doesn’t look like he’s aged a day.

Reed Alexander rose to fame in Nickelodeon series iCarly, which starred Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress.

He played Nevel Papperman, Carly’s rival who ran his own website that reviewed hers.

Nevel also tried to sabotage Carly in an attempt to steal a kiss from her, leaving her disgusted, and featured in his own episode titled iNevel.

The teen sitcom originally ran from 2007 to 2012, and Reed’s character returned in 2013 spin-off Sam & Cat, starring Ariana Grande, for one episode.

He’s also had had roles in Will & Grace and Kickin’ It.

But he now lives a very different life away from acting, working as a journalist for Insider.

Having served as an entertainment business reporter, Reed is currently a Wall Street Correspondent and also a journalism professor at the University of Miami.

Over on his Instagram, he shares a snippet into his private life with pictures from travelling around the world.

In a 2021 interview, Reed spoke about reprising his role for the iCarly Paramount+ revival.

He said it was ‘a very easy decision’ and that he had ‘tremendous faith that it would work’.

Reed continued to Business Insider: ‘I knew that Nevel was such a fun character that no matter which way they took it, he was going to be over the top and dramatic and he was going to speak in a very Shakespearean way.

‘We would bring all of those hallmarks of Nevel to whatever plotline that the writers decided on.’

He added that filming was like ‘coming back to visit old friends and revisit a part of my life that had not really been active in a while’.

‘Nevel, who had been asleep for eight years, just kind of re-awoke and we got right back down to business,’ he added.

On a recent Instagram post, Reed shocked fans with the realisation that his style was so different to Nevel’s.

‘NEVEL COULD NEVERRRR,’ @alessandroboicel2 wrote.

‘The one and only Neville Pepperman,’ @_nico_x_75_ said.

@pamrivera346 also commented: ‘Carly didn’t know what she was missing.’
