The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday defeated the Libyan national team 1- 0 in the first leg of the AFCON qualifier played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The Super Eagles dominated the match in both halves of the match while the Libyans resorted to defensive tactics with their players flooding their defence area to prevent the home team any chance of scoring any goal..

Apart from the defensive tactics, the Libyan goalkeepers was able to prevent the Super Eagles of Nigeria from scoring until late in the match.

However, the goal scored in 83rd minute of the match by Ademola Lookman was disallowed for offside

But a Nigerian substitute and midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute to give Nigeria the late win over Libya/

The second leg of the qualifier between the two teams will be played next week in Libya.
