Passengers hoping to catch a train to Gatwick Airport this morning may need to make alternative arrangements.

Lines between London Victoria and Brighton, including Gatwick Express services to the capital’s second busiest airport, are set to be disrupted all day following a signal fault and a points failure on different parts of the line.

The Gatwick Express service has been fully suspended, leaving commuters to catch Southern or Thameslink trains to the airport instead.

National Rail has warned passengers to leave at least 45 minutes of extra travel time due to the disruption being caused. Network Rail is already trying to fix the problem, but it’s still expected to cause problems for the rest of the day.
