‘I’m soaked to the skin – my bum is so wet’ says Amanda Holden as she gives update on 250-mile charity bike ride --[Reported by Umva mag]

AMANDA Holden is soaked through and has a very soggy bottom on her mammoth 250-mile charity cycle ride. The radio and TV star, 53, is tackling the lengthy route – from Bude, Cornwall to Central London – in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise which supports small charities across the country. thisisheart/InstagramAmanda Holden is cycling 250-miles from Cornwall to London[/caption] instagramShe’s been soaked to the skin on the very first day[/caption] RexAmanda is being well supported along her route[/caption] After setting off on the five day slog yesterday, Amanda checked in with her Heart Radio colleagues this morning, leaving Pandora Christie a voice note. In it, Amanda said: “Pandora, you’ve got me at a wrong point. I’m going up a hill, but I have just had the eggiest bap at Kitchen at the Wharf in Langport. What a breakfast that was, thank you to everybody there! “The weather is biblical. It’s coming down in stair rods, as they said on Paddington. I’m honestly soaked to the skin, my bum, everything’s wet, but only my thumbs are aching. “So I’m lucky at the moment, and I’m thinking that could be because of the amount of support we’re getting and I am constantly putting my thumbs up, maybe it’s that! “But keep those donations coming in. This morning, we got the best news. The Wild Robot has donated 100,000 pounds to Global’s Make Some Noise, so that’s what’s keeping us going in this blinking awful weather! Love you Pan!” The Wild Robot is a critically-acclaimed new animation from Dreamworks which tells the story of a marooned robot on a deserted island and the challenges she faces acclimatising to her new home. Responding live on air, Pandora said: “Oh, I love you too Amanda! You can do it, you can do it. We’re all behind you. And a massive shout out to Wild Robot as well for that incredibly generous donation.” Amanda did her best to prepare for the peddle power challenge by slathering her bum in special butter to prevent chafing. She told The Sun ahead of the challenge: “I’d never heard of bum butter but now I’ve got so many varieties. “My friends keep sending it to me. “I’m completely covered.” While Amanda is fit and healthy, she’s not a cyclist and is burning an estimated 15,000 calories a day in the saddle. But she’s being cheered on by daughters Lexi, 18, and Hollie, 12, and husband Chris, 52, and her spirits are receiving a boost from a mix of Abba’s greatest hits and chart pop.
