Chelsea legend John Terry believes he is part owner of a Premier League record that may never be beaten.

Jose Mourinho’s mean machine cantered to the title 20 years ago ending the dominance that had been enjoyed by Manchester United and Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s Invincibles were deposed by Mourinho’s mean machine who amassed 95 points, lost just a single game and conceded just15 goals.

Terry represented an essential part of a formidable defensive unit which also included the likes of Ashley Cole, Riccardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira.

With goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfield anchor Claude Makelele providing world class back-up, it was little wonder the Blues were such miserly opponents.

Still, Terry still believes that formidable defence shouldn’t have been breeched as many times as it was.

‘I recently got sent this list of the 15 goals we conceded in 2004/05, I can’t help but be annoyed but also very proud to be part of a great team,’ he wrote on Instagram.

‘Going over the games and goals in my head thinking this should be 10 or less. records are there to be broken, but I’m not sure 15 goals conceded in the Premier League will ever be beat.’

Cech, meanwhile, responded to Terry’s post pointing out he missed the final two games of that campaign, as did his captain.

‘Neither did I mate,’ Terry retorted. ‘I had an operation on my toe so I would be fit for pre-season. So me and you only conceded 13.’
