One dead and five rushed to hospital after horror three-car crash on M65 --[Reported by Umva mag]

ONE person has died and five others have been rushed to hospital following a horror motorway collision.

The three-car smash happened on junction 9 of the M65 around 3.37am on Wednesday.

All five victims rushed to hospital remain in a serious condition, say cops.

Lancashire Police said: “At around 3:37am we were called to reports of a collision at Junction 9 of the M65 involving 3 vehicles.

“Emergency services attended and five people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, one person has very sadly died.

“Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this incredibly distressing time, and they are being supported by officers.”

Rush-hour commuters face hefty delays as the motorway remains closed in both directions between junction 8 for Hapton, Lancashire, and junction 10 for Burnley.

National Highways said: “The M65 in Lancashire is closed in both directions between J8 (Hapton) and J10 (Burnley) due to a serious road traffic collision.

“Lancashire Police and emergency services are currently in attendance.”
