SOFIA – The State Fund “Agriculture” paid over 800 thousand euros to the fishing business and municipalities under the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Program 2014-2020. Financial support was provided to 29 recipients of the funds, of which 28 implement private investments, announced the Fund.

21 recipients have been paid 458,117 euros under the program, including due to market disruption and the supply chain of fishing and aquaculture products caused by the war.

Grants of 15,338 euros were received by four companies due to the temporary suspension of fishing activities caused by the war, which threatens the security of fishing activities or hinders their economic viability.

Another three projects by private applicants received 319,046 euros. The agreed investments support the construction of a farm, as well as studies on the historical and cultural factors influencing the development of fishing – part of the “Blue Growth” strategy.
A project of the municipality of Pomorie was supported. A grant of 38,858 euros is provided for the creation of an eco-recreation zone and promotion of activities “For a Clean Black Sea”.

At the beginning of September, the State Fund “Agriculture” paid over 5.6 million euros to the fishing business and municipalities. (01.10.2024)
