A WOMAN has hit out at passengers she encountered on a train who refused to let her sit in her reserved seat so they could carry on working.

Julie Cheung-Inhin was travelling on a CrossCountry service to Oxford yesterday when she clashed with the group of men.

She shared a picture of two of them sitting across from her, and a third next to her, slamming them for thinking their needs are greater than hers.

Despite eventually managing to secure a seat whilst on her journey to – ironically – deliver unconscious bias training, Julie aired her grievances online, where she was met with a host of mixed responses.

Julie explained that she tried to accommodate a swap by asking one of the blokes which seat he had allegedly reserved, but he told her to move elsewhere.

She was then confronted by somebody else, who claimed she was in his seat.

The first man conveniently kept his head down, leaving Julie in the lurch after being told to move again by the second man.

The two men across from her, one wearing a suit, can be seen engrossed in their laptops.

The one next to her also appears to be concentrating on something in front of him, completely oblivious that he is being photographed.

Julie shared the snaps to social media yesterday with the caption: “Behold the men who wouldn’t let me sit in my own reserved seat today so they could do their important business.

“For your information [I] am on my way to Oxford to do unconscious bias training.”

Her post has since received over 206,000 likes and more than 7,500 comments from social media users quick to share their thoughts.

One said: “A simple ‘trip’ while holding a drink would have ended his day. Yes, I am that petty, especially when I reserve a specific seat.

“Just as he could have taken the time to reserve his own spot.”

Another wrote: “It’s your seat, that you specifically reserved and paid for. You have every right to demand it back.”

A third commented: “What exactly do you mean ‘wouldn’t let you?’ You reserved the seat.

“Did you willingly give up your seat to them and are now complaining about your choice on social media?”

Another replied: “Some people do not want to escalate a scene out of consideration for other people around the idiots?

“I have on occasion accidentally sat in an incorrect seat, but moved when I realised my mistake. Public shaming of deliberate and international thieves is fine.”

A fifth said: “You must be an enormously privileged person with very few actual problems if you are this worked up over someone taking your seat.

“If you were really entitled to it you should have spoken to a manager. If you didn’t, then it’s on you and just move on for f**k’s sake.”

Another added: “Your a**e is on a seat, right? Well then count your lucky stars then. Christ Almighty.”
