A TV drama has left viewers absolutely hooked following its return for season 2, with many praising the acting talents of one of its lead stars.

In 2021, Showtrial was first released on BBC One, following the story of a woman who’s put on trial on suspicion of murder.

Three years later, the programme is back with a brand new case, as a policeman is accused of leaving a man to die in a horrifying hit and run incident.

Adeel Akhtar stars as Sam Malik, a defence lawyer who takes on the case of the accused police officer Justin Mitchell (Michael Socha).

The first episode features gruesome scenes as climate activist Marcus Calderwood (Barney Fishwick) is knocked off his bike and left to die, using his dying moments to name his alleged killer.

With all of the episodes available to watch now on BBC iPlayer, fans have been raving over how sensational they think the programme is, while also showing the cast with praise.
