Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie's posthumous memoir was just published. Meet the King of Rock 'n' Roll's extended family. --[Reported by Umva mag]

Elvis and Priscilla met in September 1959, when Elvis was 24 and Priscilla was 14, while he was stationed at an Army base in Germany.

By 1963, she had moved to Graceland, Elvis' estate in Memphis, and lived with him as he continued his stratospheric rise. They tied the knot in 1967 when Priscilla was 21 and Elvis was 32. She went on to enjoy her own onscreen career, with starring roles in the "Naked Gun" series and "Dallas."

The two separated in February 1972 before officially divorcing in October 1973.

Priscilla was put in charge of her ex-husband's estate upon the death of Elvis' father, Vernon, in 1979.

She told the Los Angeles Times that when she took over, the estate was on the verge of bankruptcy, and she played an instrumental role in making it what it is today. Partly due to Graceland, Elvis was the fifth-highest-paid dead celebrity in 2020, earning $23 million that year, Forbes reported.

A 2020 Rolling Stone estimate put the value of his estate between $400 to $500 million.

Priscilla has also produced multiple projects related to her ex-husband, most recently co-creating and starring in Netflix's "Agent Elvis," which imagines Elvis as a secret agent for the US government.

Lisa Marie was 9 years old when her father died.

As an adult, Lisa Marie was primarily a musician. She released three albums: "To Whom It May Concern" in 2003, "Now What" in 2005, and "Storm & Grace" in 2012. She also recorded multiple duets using her father's vocals.

In January 2023, Lisa Marie died at the age of 54 due to cardiac arrest.

Priscilla dated Marco Garibaldi, a Brazilian producer, from 1984 to 2006.

Garibaldi was not on the best terms with his half-sister at the time of her death.

"I know the past couple years weren't easy for you, and I wish things had been different between us. regardless, you are my sister and I'm sending love and prayers for your journey home," he wrote on Instagram.

Garibaldi spoke with People in February 2023, in one of his only interviews. He spoke about the (non-)relationship he has with his father, how he tried to hide his connection to the Presley family, his struggles with drug addiction, and how he's supporting his mother after Lisa Marie's death.

He married Achilli in 2022 in Switzerland after four years of dating. Priscilla, who attended, said in a statement, "They've been together for four years, and we all have been waiting patiently for this day."

Even though Lisa Marie and Danny split, they remained close friends — Danny was even the best man at her 2006 wedding to Michael Lockwood.

Riley Keough, who was born Danielle Riley Keough, is an actor. She made her film debut in the 2010 musical biopic "The Runaways" and continued to star in indie films and smaller productions like "The Good Doctor," "Magic Mike," "Yellow," and "Kiss of the Damned."

In 2015, she appeared in the box-office smash "Mad Max: Fury Road." The following year, she starred in the TV series "The Girlfriend Experience," for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe.

Keough made her directorial debut in 2022 with the drama "War Pony," which currently has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

"Daisy Jones & the Six" is based on the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel of the same name, and follows the meteoric rise and sharp decline of a fictional band in the '70s, Daisy Jones & the Six.

The 10-episode season concluded on March 23, 2023. Keough was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her performance.

From listening to Keough on the soundtrack, you might be surprised that it was the first real singing she'd ever done, even though her uncle, mother, and grandfather were all musicians.

According to People, "I auditioned like everybody else and lied to them and told them I could sing," she said during a screening event ahead of the premiere.

But while her grandfather may be one of the most famous singers of all time, Business Insider's Callie Ahlgrim previously reported that Keough was uncertain about her own singing abilities when she auditioned.

However, her vocals were so strong that the music supervisor, Frankie Pine, was able to use her live singing during a pivotal scene in the series' eighth episode.

"We ended up using so much of her live vocal in that moment," Pine told Business Insider. "Because it was the only way that I could get across the fact that she was out of her mind."

Keough married Smith-Petersen in 2015, after meeting on the set of "Mad Max: Fury Road."

"My husband is such a good person. He's calm and loyal and strong and sensitive. He's my best friend," she wrote in a 2022 essay for Vogue Australia. "I'm excited to have kids. Everything is exciting to me, with him. Every day is exciting when you're with your soulmate."

In 2022, Keough announced that they'd welcomed a daughter in a speech she asked her husband to read for her at her mother's funeral.

She wrote, "I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters."

It was later made public that her daughter's name is Tupelo, a nod to her grandfather's hometown in Mississippi.

Benjamin died by suicide in 2020. Afterward, Lisa Marie was vocal about her struggles with grief, penning an essay in August 2022 in People about how she was living through her pain.

"I keep going for my girls. I keep going because my son made it very clear in his final moments that taking care of his little sisters and looking out for them were on the forefront of his concerns and his mind. He absolutely adored them, and they him," she wrote.

In her posthumous memoir, "From Here to the Great Unknown," Lisa Marie shared that she kept Benjamin's body on dry ice in her home for two months in order to help her grieve.

"I got so used to him, caring for him and keeping him there," she wrote. "I felt so fortunate that there was a way that I could still parent him, delay it a bit longer so that I could become OK with laying him to rest."

Riley, who helped write the book after her mother's death, wrote that she knew her mother wouldn't live long without her son, whom she "shared a very deep soul bond" with. "She did not want to be here," wrote Riley.

The twins turned 16 this year, and they remain in the custody of their father.

When Lisa Marie turned 25, she was given full access to her trust and was the sole heir to her father's estate. She then created a new trust with her mother and the National Bank of Commerce in Memphis. They created Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., according to Inside Edition.

In 2005, Lisa Marie sold 85% of her stake in the company while retaining ownership of Graceland — the museum and the actual property.

According to the Los Angeles Times, in 2016, Lisa Marie removed her mother and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees and replaced them with her daughter Riley and her son, Benjamin. This would put Riley Keough in charge of a trust that reportedly brought in $110 million in 2022.

In February 2023, Priscilla — who did not know about the changes until after her daughter's death, Business Insider reported — filed a petition contesting the validity of the will.

Multiple sources reportedly told People at the time that Keough and Priscilla were "barely speaking," with one source saying, "They do not see eye to eye."

"They have reached a settlement. Families are happy," Ronsen Shamoon, Presley's lawyer, told reporters at a Los Angeles courthouse on May 16. "Everyone is happy. Unified and together and excited for the future."

Keough's lawyer, Justin Gold, confirmed this, telling People that Keough "would not have agreed to the settlement if she was not happy with it."

Earlier in the month, a public notice stated that Graceland would be put up for auction on May 23, 2024. The notice claimed the organization that operates Graceland owed $3.8 million on a loan Lisa Marie took out in 2018 using Graceland as collateral.

However, Keough's legal team said the creditor, a company called Naussany Investments and Private Lending, had submitted documents using a forged signature, making the documents "fraudulent."

Before the auction could happen, the Tennessee courts ruled the auction and foreclosure would be postponed until a hearing could determine who actually owns Graceland. Soon after, the company, Naussany, withdrew its claim, leaving Riley in control once more.

Naussany told the AP at the time that it had made its decision because the loan and another key document were filed in a different state, which meant Naussany would have to take legal action in multiple states.

"As the court has now made clear, there was no validity to the claims," a Graceland spokesperson told Business Insider. "There will be no foreclosure. Graceland will continue to operate as it has for the past 42 years, ensuring that Elvis fans from around the world can continue to have a best in class experience when visiting his iconic home."

In the book, Lisa Marie shared for the first time what happened when her father died. She wrote that she was just 9 years old when she woke up to see her father being taken out of their home on a stretcher after being discovered on the bathroom floor.

When she found out her father was dead, she remembered thinking, "My life as I knew it was completely over. He's dead, and now I'm stuck with her," meaning her mother, Priscilla. (Priscilla Presley did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)

"There have been nights as an adult when I would just get drunk and listen to his music and sit there and cry. The grief still comes. It's still just there," she wrote of her father.

Riley added some context about her own relationship with the grandfather she never met.

"I remember when I was little feeling angry at Elvis for leaving my mother and for causing all this pain," she wrote.
