Kylie Minogue has joked that she is a despicable person as she reveals the hefty requirements of her music tour.

Kylie, 56, is a gay icon who is known as a pop princess rather than a sweary diva.

But in a new interview, the popstar admitted that while on tour things can get a little crazy when things get stressful on tour.

The star admitted that while performing she changes her outfit several times, and quick changes backstage are required to achieve this fast-paced performance.

‘It’s frantic, it’s really stressful,’ she said in an interview with the BBC. ‘I might swear a lot.’

‘It just takes one thing to go wrong, and you’re all freaking out.’

She explained: ‘I did pass by the wardrobe [department] on a gig I did recently, and I said, ‘I’m a despicable human being. I’m so sorry.’

‘They were like, “No, what happens in quick change stays in quick change”.’

In the same interview, the star also gave some more backstage gossip about her quick change rituals.

Kylie told a hilarious story about eating oysters before going on stage to help her performance.

‘I’ve tried all sorts of different things… someone once mentioned an oyster so yeah I have downed some oysters, just for time and ease.’

‘I have got close to one [a bad oyster], or maybe I even started to eat it and then went [shakes head] this is the kind of life that you need someone just held out their hand and I [imitates spitting it into someone’s hand.]’

The star reflected on her early career and spoke about the criticism she faced early in her career as a young woman.

‘It wasn’t cool that people were as nasty as they were,’ she said .’And it wasn’t some invisible person behind a keyboard.’

‘These were grown adults who should have known better.’

When asked how she kept going while facing such adversity.

‘To be honest, I don’t know what made me keep going,’she replies. ‘But one of the blessings is that I had a job and I had to show up to work.’

‘There were definitely times when I would have liked to hide in a cave, so it’s good if you have that responsibility [of acting]. You have to show up, and then you’re distracted by other things.’
