Mum’s tribute to ‘smiley’ girl, 6, killed in house fire as cops give update on 14-year-old arrested over horror --[Reported by Umva mag]

THE devastated parents of a six-year-old tragically killed in a house fire have paid tribute to the “smiley little girl”.

Chamiah Brindley was discovered dead inside the blazing house in Leicester on September 10.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of arson following the horror but police confirmed she is facing no further action.

Officers also confirmed the fire was started “accidentally”.

Chamiah’s mum has now paid tribute to the youngster, who “loved” her ten brothers and sisters.

She also told how Chamiah “had a love for food and was always one to try everything”.

The mum added: “Chamiah, known as Miah, was the most happy, smiley little girl anyone could ever meet.

“She was very curious and inquisitive little girl, always wondering what’s going on in the world.

“She loved school, joining in activities and racing up and down the street with her brothers and friends.

“She was very outspoken and wasn’t afraid to tell people what she thought.

“She was the ray of sunshine that shone when your day was cloudy.

“Miah was loved by all and is missed incredibly.”

Chamiah’s dad also paid tribute, saying his “extremely caring” daughter was “full of life and very loving”.

He added: “It is still hard for me to come to terms with what has happened and still not real to me that my daughter is gone, and I will never see her again.

“I will miss my daughter so dearly, but she will always be in my thoughts and heart. Rest in peace my little angel, until we meet again.”

Emergency crews were scrambled to the house on Bedale Drive in the early hours after the blaze erupted.

Desperate neighbours attempted to get the family to safety after waking up to see flames outside.

Detective Inspector Michael Chandler said: “This investigation has been complex, tragic and completely heartbreaking. Our thoughts remain with the family and all those who are going through the most difficult and unimaginable time.

“We have carried out extensive and thorough enquiries with the fire service and scientific experts over the past few weeks in order to establish the circumstances of the fire and to find answers for the family as quickly as we could.

“Following these enquiries, the investigation has concluded that no criminal act has been committed. A file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.”
